Love knows no bounds, and for Calli and Zachary, it has taken them across the world to Italy, where their classic and timeless destination wedding was realized at the charming Palazzo Pfanner.

Nestled in the heart of the medieval city of Lucca, Italy, this historic palace is the epitome of romance and luxury. With its elegant Baroque-style architecture, magnificent gardens, and ornate interiors, Palazzo Pfanner provided the perfect luxurious backdrop for the couple’s love story to unfold.

The elegant wedding venue was bustling with activity as preparations for the wedding were in full swing. The morning sun cast a warm glow in the bridal suite as the bride-to-be was getting ready with her mother and bridesmaids. Before slipping into her gown, Calli and her mother enjoyed a walk around the palace, taking in the excitement of the wedding day. Meanwhile, Zachary and his groomsmen took a leisurely stroll through the quaint streets of Lucca, preparing for the day ahead.

The couple envisioned a classic color palette of white and green to enhance the natural beauty of the venue. To bring their vision to life, I opted for a bridal bouquet of ivory roses and greenery, as well as for the bride’s mom’s corsage. The groomsmen wore black suits and ivory boutonnieres. In honor of the groom’s mother, whose favorite flowers were purple irises, Zachery wore a boutonniere of purple irises. Calli asked me to add them to her bouquet as well – giving a special touch to the floral arrangements.

Elegant Ceremony at Palazzo Pfanner

Before the ceremony, Calli wanted a special moment to connect with her father. She shared her first look with him at the sweeping staircase of the palace. What a beautiful and emotional moment! With her father by her side and her veil flowing behind her, the bride made a stunning entrance, accompanied by the soothing sound of the harp and violin.

The stylish ceremony took place in the baroque garden. Such an elegant place with a striking fountain, manicured foliage, lush greenery and flowers, and marble eighteenth-century statues! The aisle was lined with eucalyptus and candles. Both sides of the aisle were decorated with 2m high cypresses and giant handmade flowers by Gaia Pietrella, made from white organza fabric. Such ceremony details amplified the grandeur of the palace and natural setting!

Classic and Timeless Destination Wedding

Following the ceremony, the guests enjoyed an aperitif in the garden, while the happy couple was taking pictures. As everyone arrived at the reception area, they were greeted by a tableau de mariage on a framed mirror complemented by elegant florals. The garden was enhanced with white linen round tables, each embellished with crystal plates with golden rims, diamond-patterned candle holders, and napkins decorated with olive branches tied with a silk golden ribbon. I crafted the floral centerpieces with ivory roses, hydrangeas, and delicate greenery to create a focal point for each table. There were crystal chandeliers handing overhead, illuminating the reception with a soft, romantic light. Each detail gave a touch of sophistication to the entire setup!

The head table was the heart of the entire reception. Set apart from the others with an antique-style bust planter, the table was overflowing with roses and greenery. The arrangement was designed to create a dramatic statement and add to the breathtaking backdrop for the bride and groom. I also did beautiful arrangements of purple irises at the head table. The blooms added a pop of color and a touch of whimsy to the overall aesthetic of the reception. The combination of all the elements created a magical atmosphere for this classic and timeless destination wedding. A perfect design for the celebration of the happy couple’s love!

The perfect night continued with heartwarming speeches from the guests followed by a performance from an opera singer. The music was the perfect accompaniment as the newlyweds cut their wedding cake and toasted with champagne. The perfect day ended with the pair dancing the night away in the palace’s grand hall.
